Central angle and inscribed angle on the same arc

An example figure from the Circle Generator.

A circle with center O and points A, B and C on it; radii OA and OB make a central angle labeled 120°, and chords CA and CB make an inscribed angle at C labeled x
A circle with its center O and three points A, B and C on it. The radii OA and OB meet at O in a central angle marked with an arc and labeled 120°, and the chords CA and CB meet at C in an inscribed angle on the same arc AB, marked and labeled x, for the angle at the center is twice the angle at the circumference.
